A To Z Challenge: V "Escape from the Mothership"

For my first A to Z Challenge ever, I'm highlighting a favorite track from various science fiction and fantasy movies, games, and TV shows. Feel free to press play and listen while you visit other A to Z participants.

Color me shocked if you know about V (The Visitors), the sci fi miniseries from the 80's that spawned a reboot in the late 2000's. You owe it to yourself to find this show and watch it if you haven't. Basically, the story is about a bunch of aliens who come to us for help, but a group of suspicious humans investigate and learn of the alien's true intentions. Scary! Step back into the 80's with this track from Joseph Harnell.

There will be a new track tomorrow. Thank you for stopping by!

I'm David, and "we have come in peace (yeah, right!)"

  3. The original V miniseries (both of them) were great. The series not as much.

  4. I had such great hopes for the new V series. Alas, it just wasn't that great. I remember the old one a little bit. It was pretty cool.

  7. I loved the two original mini-series and thought the series itself was sloppy and silly. What a shame.

  13. I think they tried that 'we come in peace' tactic in Mars Attacks too, then they blasted the peace dove and the Chihuahua puppy. Just to show they meant business. I didn't however, see this V.

  14. My son got me into V and I have to say I loved it. Watched all of them. Not as good as Battlestar Gallactica but not bad.

  15. I remember thinking when I was little, OMG what if the Visitors are the bad guys, someone has to do something ! Earth is in danger...

  16. Thanks for sharing this one, especially the summary of the story line. Every time I would see a bit of advertisement for this one, I would remind myself to check out what it was about. Naturally, other shiny things sci-fi kept distracting me and I would forget it existed altogether. :)

  17. Does it give away my age to say I distinctly remember watching this series in the 80s on the small black-and-white TV in my bedroom?

  18. I love V! Too bad the reboot got cancelled but it got rather confusing in the second season. The 80's version is the best.

  23. Color you shocked? LOL just who do you think your readers are, exactly? I distinctly remember watching this in the early 80's on our big floor TV (that only had three channels) with the rest of the family, while eating our TV dinners...

  24. V was so great. The image of Diana eating the rodent is with me for life.

  25. I watched both. My hubby and I were so sad when the reboot got canned. They had been doing such a great job with it! Great pick!

  26. I watch both, too. I liked the original and the reboot. I was sad when both were cancelled! And they cancelled the reboot on a cliffhanger. I hate that!!!!

  27. Like Alex, I didn't care for the reboot, but the original caught me at the right time in my maturity ... or lack thereof! :-)

  29. This was one of my family's "together" times! We would all watch the series together. It maybe kind of sort of scared me, despite how hokey it would seem now. I was super young!

I never watched the reboot, despite the lovely Morena Baccarin being attached to it. Seems it fared decently?

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
