For my first A to Z Challenge ever, I'm highlighting a favorite track from various science fiction and fantasy movies, games, and TV shows. Feel free to press play and listen while you visit other A to Z participants.
Ready for a golden oldie? There are lots of pretenders today, but none of them have come close to topping the parody genius of Mel Brooks. My favorite? Young Frankenstein! John Morris did a great job carrying this film, to which this lullaby-like track is from. If you're in the mood for a good laugh, then go for a "rolls in the hay" and rent this sucker.
Tomorrow is the A to Z Finale! Thank you for stopping by!
I'm David, and I suppose I am a little "Abby Normal ..."
Classic film!!
ReplyDeletetotally a classic! Madeline Kahn is so brilliant in this. What a loss - she died too young.
ReplyDeleteThis movie is hilarious. I remember on AMC they said Mel Brooks directed this pretty much for the money because he was broke.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little "Abby Normal", too. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis song is awesome, and the film is a classic everyone should watch. Great choice for Y, David!
I remember this one. Must re-watch. It's been ages!
ReplyDeleteParody genius, indeed! Great choice for Y. Great job getting through the challenge, David! :-)
ReplyDelete"Put... ze candle... *back*!" jean :)
ReplyDeleteone of our all time faves! You certainly know your movies!
I haven't seen this one in forever! Thanks for reminding me. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Immarcescible Word
A great choice, with a great cast: Gene Wilder, and Madeleine Kahn. Love those two. Mel Brooks did make a few winners.
ReplyDeleteOne of Brooks' best!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies of all time. "Abby something…." Now I feel the need to watch this!
ReplyDeleteI actually have watched this one and really liked it. Great music too.
ReplyDeleteBrandon Ax: Writer's Storm
I really like the violins in that piece. (I'm a sucker for violins.)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this film ::bows her head in shame:: but I enjoyed the music very much.
ReplyDeleteYes, a film I've seen! One of the best and silliest movies ever. :)
ReplyDeleteThis movie is hilarious. Great song choice!
ReplyDeleteAw, love Young Frankenstein! Great pick! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat hump? :p
ReplyDeleteA good throwback.
ReplyDeleteI did not enjoy reading Frankenstein for English class at all, so maybe I'll have to rent Young Frankenstein to make it all worth it. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's been a really long time since I've seen this movie. At least a decade. Takes me back!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies. Just the thought of the "Putting on the Ritz" scene makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I went to see this every Friday when it was playing in the theater. We were hooked and quoted every corny line.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing so much about this movie, but I keep forgetting to read it. It has been on my to watch list for ages.
ReplyDeleteI know many who enjoyed this movie, and who are shocked I've never seen it, but alas it's true — I have not.
ReplyDeletePerhaps someday.
There are many classics and "classics" I'm behind on watching for the first time, even if just for the sake of having done so, regardless of thinking I will like it or not. Never know until you try, right?
