I have a confession to make. No film has ever made me cry the way The Return of the King did. This is the exact track when this happened. Don't judge me. I was in a real low place in my life and thankfully the local small town one-screener was playing this at the time. Howard Score became a household name ever since and I scrambled to find all of his music. This is still my favorite of his. I'm tearing up again ...
There will be a new track tomorrow. Thank you for stopping by!
I'm David, and Frodo lost his finger, and made Samwise cry.
I'm not big on movie soundtracks, but we own all three LOTR discs. Shore's music rivals Williams.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to hear his music.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful track and such a sweet confession. I'm a firm believer that it's great to see a man cry every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI don't recall crying to The Return of the King and I've cried quite a bit during other movies. I love this track. It's so peaceful. :)
ReplyDeleteWait...he lost his finger? Do I want to know?
ReplyDeleteAww. This one made me cry too. Nice pick.
ReplyDeleteI easily cry with moving music like this. thanks for another amazing selection! jean :)
ReplyDeleteWe love these movies, and have the soundtrack for the firs one, so I'd be the last person to mock you about them. Lovely pick.
ReplyDeleteTrue Heroes from A to Z
I started listening to Shore's music because of these movies as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Immarcescible Word
It's amazing the power music can have in our lives! Love LOTR
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful music...and moving. Loved all the "Lord of the Rings" movies! ♥
ReplyDeleteI think Jackson has been perfect in picking the music for his Tolkien movies. I just watched the extras on The Hobbit: DoS and still was moved by the effort put into these films.
ReplyDeleteBrandon Ax: Writer's Storm
No judgment here. I can see where you teared up at this one.

If I were going to buy more soundtracks I think those would be a good choice.
ReplyDeleteZERO judgement. I have never cried so often, and so hard, as I did during this movie. I saw it in the movie theatre twice and bawled both times. Embarrassing? Probably, but this is a brilliant film. And yes, by the time we reached this scene, I was a wreck. So glad you included it here.
ReplyDeleteSo love this too. I'm watching The Hobbit right now.
ReplyDeleteGreat movie and no judgment here! Cry away, ya big baby!
ReplyDeleteThis really makes me want to watch these again. I haven't since their release in the theater. Yet to do the entire extended trilogy.
Jak at The Cryton Chronicles & Dreams in the Shade of Ink
Well, I didn't cry during the movie, but it is a good song :)
ReplyDeleteThere was so much epicness in that series. The music is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI have that CD and it's always in the player. One of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI basically started blubbering when Theoden dies and kept going through the credits. When Sam says "But I can carry you" to Frodo, I totally lose it,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and perfect. I think the music choices for these movies have been amazing! Love it. Love it all!
ReplyDeleteThis movie has loads of memories for me too. Don't ask.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this song moved you, I know it moved me.
This is one of my favorites. It is truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh this is too beautiful!! when music moves u to tears u must know that ur mind and heart has been totally pure and one with God....stay blessed!
ReplyDeleteI will have to listen to this later when I'm back at work - internet's too crappy here. :) And I really have to watch these movies again!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely no judging. I listen to these soundtracks all the time; Shore's powerful music can easily stir up emotion.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with shedding a tear or two when the music is as moving as this is!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....
Since I tear up at the drop of a hat, I am in no position to judge anyone regarding crying. Plus, I think it just shows you have a sensitive heart. Isn't that a good thing????
ReplyDeleteI love the entire Lord of the Rings soundtrack, including this piece. I often listen to it when I write.
ReplyDeleteI love the music from LOTR. My husband did a rewatch this past weekend and while I didn't watch with him, I loved hearing the music from another room!
ReplyDeleteThe entire LOTR soundtrack makes for amazing writing background. It never fails to instantly transport me.
