A To Z: Naruto Shippuden "Man of the World"

For my first A to Z Challenge ever, I'm highlighting a favorite track from various science fiction and fantasy movies, games, and TV shows. Feel free to press play and listen while you visit other A to Z participants.

Considered the Game of Thrones of Anime, in terms of epicness, Naruto: Shippuden is a seriously epic series that will take years to catch up if you haven't watched from the beginning. Yasuharu Takanashi has a great ear for drawing the right notes to pique the emotion from the viewer, to which this track has to be among the saddest I've ever heard.

There will be a new track tomorrow. Thank you for stopping by!

I'm David, and check your chakra before you leave ...

  2. My brother's are HUGE fans of Naruto. I agree on the use of the violin. This is a haunting track.

BTW, I meant to mention the other day that your blog background is rad! :)

  3. Hi David .. As you mention Yasuharu Takanashi certainly has a great feel for the emotion to this scene .. I wonder what is happening .. great empathy one assumes for the scene unfolding ...

  6. Love the song, and like most say here, I can always get behind a violin piece.

But Naruto... man... Naruto... Given the very reason you mentioned, I have strayed from watching this anime. Along the same lines of Dragon Ball Z. There is just such a volume that it would take me ages to watch them all and it sounds like it's still ongoing? Both series even maybe.

Being it's been awhile since I've watched much anime, I will likely resume with some series that aren't as epic and are already wrapped up, so they can be viewed in their entirety. No waiting :)

  8. Love the music. :) For some reason, Naruto at a glance has never struck me as emotional, but more along the lines of DBZ; dramatic moments, but mostly just fighting...episodes and episodes to a single fight in DBZ's case. But a lot of anime is like that in that it's hard to tell at a glance how serious the story line might be.

  16. My chakra needs a tissue. This is totally the tune for a death scene or complete destruction of a village. Proud watcher of the series. One of the best anime series of all time.

  17. That violin sounds like it is crying. It amazes me that the same instrument that can produce a rollicking merry tune can also squeeze out something this sad. In my mind, I can see the violinist crying as he draws the bow across the strings. It would make me sad to play it. Wonderful song.

  18. I love Naruto, it's one of my favourite anime's. I'm all caught up on it now, and it's killing me having to wait a week for each new episode. I have loads of the tracks from it on my youtube playlist, including this one. I listen to them when I'm writing :)
