my first A to Z Challenge ever, I'm highlighting a favorite track from
various science fiction and fantasy movies, games, and TV shows. Feel
free to press play and listen while you visit other A to Z participants.I couldn't allow this challenge to come and go without giving a nod to Joss Whedon's sci fi classic Firefly, which sadly amounted to only one season (networks are fickle like that). This track in particular from composer Greg Edmonson always takes me to a far away place.

ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! I always think it's interesting how the music of a show can hide in the background until you actually listen to the soundtrack itself. I'm sure I've heard this song before, but I didn't notice it until now. Thanks for the music!

ReplyDeleteShiny! Joss Whedon talked about all the secrets associated with Inara's shuttle, and won't reveal them unless he makes more Serenity films. Fingers crossed.

Only saw the movie but heard lots of good things about the series. The actress that moved on to USA Suits is amazing though.

ReplyDeleteMy dad loved Firefly. Somehow its network run passed him by, but he discovered the dvds with alacrity. I haven't seen it yet myself, but I live under a rock that's actually a network of caves leading to other dimensions. Exploring them doesn't leave a lot of time for television(not if I want to game as well). Enjoying the music shares! :)

ReplyDeleteI never managed to see Firefly. What a shame it only lasted for one season. I'm a fan of Joss Whedon so I think would have liked it. That track is beautiful, great choice.

ReplyDeleteI've heard this song before. I know it only has Inara in the name, but this melancholy tune makes me think of the romance that never was between her and Mal. It was something that existed maybe in another space and time. In another lifetime. Another destiny. Possibly another season if the show weren't cancelled. But, it makes me feel things lost and things that never were... soulful and sad.
we love this so much at our house we own the series. It was interesting when Josh said it was hard directing...what was it,.9? major characters or something like that, but didn't he rock it? Love that show and Serenity too! Beautiful selection, thank you, jean

I love Firefly, this is the only Firefly post I've seen this year, last year there were a few. I wish they hadn't cancelled it!
