The myth is true.
30 years ago today, I entered this world. Three decades. Wow. There was a moment in life when I wondered if this day would ever come. Now that it has, I'm all like, "WHY!? Why did it have to come!"
Life - all the details are in the fine print, right? But you know what? I like it. There can be no question or doubt anymore. I'm an adult now (contrary to popular belief), which means I'm at that fun age where I'm old enough for lots of young people (I'm allowed to say that now, right?) to "respect their elder," while being young enough to enjoy things that I know I can't do 30 years from now, like tennis and bungie-jumping (not that I've done these activities before ...).
Before I enjoy this day, I want to say thank you for the early birthday wishes ... but more importantly, it's not just my birthday - it's yours!
Today, I'm giving away a $30 gift card from Amazon (you didn't think I was going to offer you guys a present, eh?). All you have to do is answer a question. One lucky lucky-guesser-person will empty my wallet, take home the goods, and buy themselves ... who knows?
Here's the Question: At what time was I born?
Leave your answer in the comments. I'll check back at midnight (MST), see who's the closest, and announce the winner tomorrow with a very special-ish Aspiring Advice post. See you guys then!
I'm David, and no eggs were harmed in the making of this cake ...
Happy birthday! Thirty is so young.
ReplyDeleteI'll go for 2:38 pm.
Wooo happy 30!!! Mine is coming in just a few years from now. I'm gonna guess 11:17 AM, cause that's the time that I was born :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! And thirty is still young, to an old lady like me. My guess is 7:11 because that's where I'm headed to grab some coffee after this :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Is that AM or PM?
DeleteHappy Birthday David! Hey, You and two other bloggers I know share this date. You must know Donna Hole?
ReplyDeleteTHIRTY? EEEEEK .... Man I remember when I turned 30 ... I never had a 29th year, I said I was thirty then, just to prepare myself for the inevitable. Talk about tragic... I FREAKED! But then I go over it.
You, my friend, are in for the time of you life. This is the decade where you'll mature to who you will really be for the rest of your life!
I am still the same person I was at thirty. Hey, I never left... LOL. I strive to be eternally youthful. And let me just say to you, I bet you can still bungy jump at sixty!
I can't believe the things I am capable of doing at Ehmmmm... swallows hard ... my age. OF course very few people know the true number. I like to keep everyone guessing. LOL.
Have a great day, David. This is the beginning of a new and exciting milestone. All the best!
My guess, hmmmm, I'd say, 9:37 pm. I believe you are a night owl ... but not too late.
Happy Birthday! Thirty is sooooo young, almost a baby ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll put you at 6:42 am.

ReplyDeleteCrap, hate it when I'm signed in on the wrong account.
DeleteHappy day of your birth! Despite my Price is Right tendencies to choose 12:01am, I'll go for 11:28pm.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll go with 5:30 pm
Hey David! Happy birthday, hope you have a GREAT one. Welcome to your 30s, I'm two years in and I'm still alive and kicking, so there's always hope ;) Oh, my guess is 2:33 a.m.

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, DPK! I hope it's a great day! My guess is 10:39 am.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I haven't made it to 30 yet, but I'm close. I'm told it's much the same as being 29 and 364 days... What do you think? :)
ReplyDeleteI guess 7:59 am. You seem like an early-ish, but not too early, bird. :)
You seem like a morning person. I'm going to declare that you were born at 8:00 a.m. in the morning. That pretty much means that I think you were meant for 8-5 shifts all your life LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday!
Well, happy birthday to you! What a fun birthday challenge! I'm going with 3:32 am.
ReplyDeleteAllison (Geek Banter)

ReplyDeleteSince you're always early to things, I'm going to guess 5:18 am.
Happy Birthday!!! 30 is such a great age. Haha. Okay, maybe not for everyone. I'm 5 years ahead of you and I know 40 is creeping up on me, which doesn't sound fun. I hope you have an awesome day!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is 2:52 AM.
Happy Birthday! I hope this is a great year for you.
ReplyDeleteI am going to guess 2:46pm.
That video was hilarious! The big 3-0, eh? Wishing you the best! Looking at the other comments no one picked the middle of the day so I'm going to say... 3:30pm :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I've got 3 years til 30 myself. It sounds like a good age to be, actually. My guess is 4:00 pm.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I've got 30 coming up fast, but it's a good number, so I'm not worried. (We'll see if that's still how I feel when it gets here...) How about 12:01am, just 'cuz. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat about 4:13pm?
David, you're just a youngster. By the way, I tried bungee jumping and it's waaay overrated. I'm going to say you were born at 10:05 a.m.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, David. Let's see, I'm old enough to be your...older sister. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave the happiest! It's all down hill, as they say, after this.
ReplyDeleteWell, you have a lot of am guesses, so I'm gonna go with 1:00pm.
Happy happy birthday to you!!! I hope it's as awesome as you are!
ReplyDeleteNow my guess... I say 11:11 a.m.
Happy Birthday-- I'm one of those weird people that actually likes aging. It comes with such great benefits of lessons learned and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteOK now for the guess-- babies are never convenient. Let's go with 6:45 pm, right during supper. ;)
Happy Birthday, David. I'll guess 11:58 am
ReplyDelete2:23 AM is my guess!
ReplyDeleteAnd HUGE birthday congrats! I'm a year ahead of you, so being older and wiser, let me say that the thirties are WAY better than the twenties... This is our decade! I like Michael's comment about this being the time that we shape who we are for the rest of our lives---it brings promise and hope and never ending possibilities! Was that cheesy? Maybe a little :)
Big congrats! I'll catch up to you in a year or two...if I'm honest about it;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and a cute video. My guess is 7:20 AM
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, David! Have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, David! Have a good one! I am facing a birthday with a 0 in just a couple years. And it ain't 30. So enjoy.
ReplyDeleteDude,
ReplyDeleteI'm so old it takes me a day to get to any birthday posts.
(Sighs)
I would say Hip hip Hooray, but *my* hips are killing me :)
Happy 30th man... it was good knowing you... it's all downhill now, especially if you live on a Utah mountain :)
