Hey, guys! How was your weekend? Take care of some writing? Real life stuff? Watch the Oscars? Last week for me was incredibly busy, with the Campaign, editing queries (15 participates - you're awesome), and the daily usuals, I haven't had a chance to do much else. That's my excuse for not responding to these tags ...
You guys are awesome. I can't tell you enough. Nine bloggers have tagged me with an 11 question meme since LTUE. That's a lot of tags, and I don't have a lot of time. So, instead of answering almost 100 questions, I hope you don't mind if I answer only 11 of them?
Cool - let's do this!
* * *
Describe yourself in one word - Excited!
What song is currently stuck in your head? - Skipper Dan (reminds me of all the Disneyland trips as a kid).
What fictional character do you most resemble? - You mean, look like or act like? If it's a matter of acting, I might have to side with Neville Longbottom - a little slow as a child but awesome with age!
Are you a full-time writer or do you have some other day job? - I have a day job, working as a psychological testing administrator. Makes for interesting stories.
Are you a full-time writer or do you have some other day job? - I have a day job, working as a psychological testing administrator. Makes for interesting stories.
Which book would you pick up first: awesome cover or super cool title? - Super cool title - a strong title (an all-encompassing theme) tends to gravitate me.
Superpower? - Breathe underwater. I'd be unstoppable!
Can you write in a noisy environment, or does it have to be quiet? - I prefer quiet, but can handle writing if little people aren't prodding me. I love listening to soft music (without lyrics), which helps the mood.
One place in the world you wish you could go? - Hobbiton, New Zealand.
What are your favorite sweets? - Jellybeans and everything else.
Do you write by outlining first, or by the seat of your pants? - An outliner - I always need to a plan ahead.
I now pass this meme on to seven of my (randomly selected) new members - you can ask the same questions or make up your own. If you'd like, have at it and have fun!

Thanks for the epic shout-out, David. Anything epic makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! *grin*
ReplyDeleteBreathing underwater would have its advantages!
ReplyDeleteBreathe underwater, that's totally the superpower I've always wanted, but I'd that with a body that can withstand the added pressure of water ;) No way I want to limit myself to 100 feet ;)
ReplyDeleteLove Weird Al! LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd a Psychological Testing Administrator? *gasp* You mean... you're like, a real person??? ;)
I'd love to breath under water. That'd be awesome!
ReplyDeleteoh, Neville. Great choice! One of my all-time favorite characters.
ReplyDeleteIf you're a writer and you want something about the Oscars to get excited about, look up this years very deserving winner in the Best Animated Short category. "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" is a beautifully animated story that stole my heart. This is a film anyone can appreciate but it's something especially special if you're a writer. I've never seen anything that so completely captures the feeling of why writers write. It's wonderful! It made me cry! It's only 15 minutes long so look it up on YouTube!
ReplyDeleteNeville, my friend, is an excellent choice. He became totally B.A. in the last book/film :D
ReplyDeleteYou are like Neville? I must meet you in person. :)
ReplyDeleteA psychological testing administrator? That's really cool! Psychological testing is one of the courses I took to get my psych degree, and I wish there had been more courses that covered that kind of ground, it was so fascinating.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being tagged. Neville was my second favorite character in the series. You could tell early on there was more to him.
ReplyDeleteTotally missed the Oscars. Didn't even know they were on. lol
I'm happy that my prediction for the Artist did well. I was also disappointed in myself for not having seen so many films. I thought I did a decent job but I missed out on the Ewan McGregor/Christopher Plummer one and missed out on the one that had Glenn Close in it...I don't think I'll see the Margaret Thatcher movie.
ReplyDeleteHobbiton ftw! Awesome choice :D
ReplyDeletethese questions are so fun :) love the neville reference.
ReplyDeleteWell well well...I'm glad you came out of hiding!
ReplyDeleteJelly beans are gross.
And that's all...
Breathing under water? What if your arch enemy's secret lair was up a mountain?
ReplyDelete(Great answers btw)
Interesting about your day job, I just turned down a sales position for a company that does nothing by psychological testing and training for companies. If it paid better, I would have jumped at the chance.
ReplyDeleteHobbiton, New Zealand? I guess you wanna check out the Shire.
Thanks for the warm welcome! And thank you so much for critiquing my query! Now I know why they call you Query Dr.
ReplyDeleteI love jelly beans but only at Easter - which is when the jelly beans are really good anyway.
ReplyDeleteBreathing underwater would be interesting, but I'd want to move somewhere a little warmer first.
ReplyDeleteLove your answers. Neville Longbottom! You come up with the best stuff ever. It's so cool! And jellybeans are everywhere! I'm dying here. DYING! Trying not to eat them and wanting to eat them.
ReplyDeleteI agree- Billy Crystal is the best host ever!
I could never write a story without outlining first. I have no idea how some people do it! Anyway, high-five for outliners :)
ReplyDeleteBilly IS the best host ever!
ReplyDeleteCool beans - no, jelly beans! Both a mental health-y type, and an outliner. I knew I followed your blog for a reason!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had watched last night's awards show. I love Crystal as a host.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had jelly beans in forever. Now I want some.
Thanks for the info. Always good to know.
ReplyDeletePooh1 - I have two friends that have read "Woven" they love it. They want a movie made from it. You do yourself proud by writing such a wonderful story!
ReplyDeleteHobbiton, New Zealand - I am totally there with you! Seeing that would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteNeville, Hobbiton and - a bulldog in a speedo? You're the man Dude :)
ReplyDelete......dhole
I think your job might be the one I wanted to do, except I didn't know what it was called :-)
ReplyDeleteLots of fun answers! I especially like the Neville answer, and I now want a stuffed bulldog in a speedo.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been slow in making my rounds, but I’m saying howdy from the YA campaign group.
