I might just mutate into something awesome today! Why's that? Today is the blogoversary of The Cosmic Laire, with over 600 members joined since its awkward beginnings three years ago. To celebrate, I've prepared a little experiment that I hope you'll participate in.

I've received awesome feedback from those who have sent queries for me to critique over the last year. Some went on to win contests or gain agent representation. One author replied that I was very helpful and closed with "thank you, query doctor!" I thought on that for a while. I'm no expert, but who said I need a PhD to help writers and their queries with a fresh pair of eyes?

To honor 600 members and this 3rd blogoversary, The Cosmic Laire is proud to introduce The Query Doctor!
He's a very busy guy, but he'll make periodic visits (and warp through time, if he has to) and open his booth to your queries. And guess what? He's in today! Send your query, in an email, to dpowersking[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll be sure he gets it (no attachments, please). He'll give a thorough critique, edit your query (if necessary), and do whatever it takes to help it shine. So, what are you waiting for?He's taking off at 6 PM, MT. Send your best (as you would to an agent), and hurry, before time runs out!

Time's up! The Query Doctor has left. I must say, what a turnout - 12 queries in 10 hours! Most are sent back - still a few left to do. If you're still waiting, don't panic. You should receive your feedback in the next 24 hours. Feedback has been great and I had a smashing time, so it looks like I'll have to invite the doc again soon.
