I dedicate this A to Z Challenge to Tina Downey, one of the A to Z
Challenge founders and one of the brightest bloggers who sadly left us
last year. Harder still, she was in a secret support group that I'm part
of. The best way I can honor Tina, who was excited about and never had
the opportunity to read my debut, I've teamed up with Father Dragon to present short bios and character portraits from Woven. I'll write the bios and all art is created by Al Diaz. I hope you enjoy this visual tribute to our friend, Tina.
On another note, since this challenge started I've been asked where people can find/buy Woven. It's available in major booksellers (USA and Canada), and right now hardbacks are less than $12 on Amazon. Check out my Books tab for more links to other sellers, and feel free to ask your local library to order it if they don't have it already.
I'll include links with these posts for the rest of the challenge.

Known as Bosh to his closest friends, Ickabosh is the Tailor of Averand, an optimistic old man with gray eyes. He is also the master of a subtle magic system called Fabrication. If he is not mending threads in the Great Tapestry, he is sewing new clothes for the royals and the residing nobility. You can easily spot him in a crowd by his gray robe and a cane that looks like a crochet hook.
Tomorrow: J is for Jilia.I'm David, and "hold it when you need it most."
I liked Ickabosh! Sometimes.
ReplyDeleteFabrication sounds like a useful ability :) I love the movement in the cloth in the illustration.

This is one of my favorite illustrations :)
ReplyDeleteI like his name. And that's a clever detail about his cane looking like a crochet hook since he sews. :)
ReplyDeleteAh but it's what he sews!!! Another great drawing. You should publish a copy with all these pix in it.
ReplyDeleteBosh did some interesting things in the book.
ReplyDeleteIf he Fabricates, it makes you wonder how much to trust him.
ReplyDeleteHe sounds like a neat dude, but can I recommend he try knitting if he doesn't know how? ;)

Loving the description and picture, as always! I especially like Ickabosh's sewing side... :)
ReplyDeleteI love the quick descriptions and the drawing. It gives you such a great idea about the character. He is like an old sage that may have more powers than anyone realizes:)
ReplyDeleteBosh was a very interesting character, I hope to learn more about his story in the future.
ReplyDeleteOooo- he sounds like my kind of guy!
ReplyDeleteI like this one! Between the drawing and your description, it seems Ickabosh has a few things up his sleeve. Elle @ Erratic Project Junkie
