We're half-way into the tour, and I hope you brought your dancing shoes. Our next tour stop is Morgan Shamy, who some of you know as one of the blogosphere's finest and brightest who knows books and ballet, and today she reviewed WOVEN on her blog (but really, it looks more like a date...). Head on over and see want she thinks!
I'm going to shake things up a little and tell you about some cool books that just came out yesterday. Partially because my insecurity this month has to do with being worried that people are tired of seeing WOVEN everywhere, and fretting about how it's doing now that it's out in the world. But more than that, I think these books deserve your attention: SHUTTER by Courtney Alameda and WATER SO DEEP by Nichole Giles. One is super freaky, and the other has Mermaids. This is a win win, people. Congrats!
Click on the covers. They won't bite. Or will they?
I know things are going well for WOVEN and the reviews coming in are mostly positive, so I just need to tell that little monster gnawing away inside me to chill and let what happens happen. I really do appreciate the reviews, guys. They help me grow as a writer.

What did you think of Morgan's review? Have you ever gone on a date with a book? Excited to read Shutter and Water So Deep?
I'm David, and I'm not the only one who reads on a treadmill...
Already visited Morgan this morning. That was a fun way to do a review!
ReplyDeleteJust keep riding the wave, David.
Blog tour is going STRONG! Keep it goin'!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing, DPK!!!! Like Alex said, Ride The Wave. The book is FABULOUS and those awesome reviews will keep coming in. And I LOVE seeing Woven everywhere. It's a beautiful thing!!!
ReplyDeleteThose do look cool, David. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBoth of those books sound good. Thanks for telling us about them!
ReplyDeleteI've been on dates where I wish I'd brought a book.
ReplyDeleteI have a copy of your book just sitting on my shelf, taunting me because I have to read two ARCs first for review. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteReviews can be hard to swallow, but the biggest thing I've learned is that books are interpreted completely different by readers. I mean, how can you get a 5 star and 1 star review out of the same novel? Individual taste. People are funny too. Don't let them knock you down at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are going well for your book. Now you can start to ignore those little monsters of doubt that keep gnawing away at your self-confidence. Congratulations again.
ReplyDeleteThe cover to Woven is beautiful, definitely eye-catching. Both Shutter and Water So Deep sound intriguing. Good luck with the book tour!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I stopped by, because I haven't seen Woven anywhere, only because I been changed to my computer, trying to keep the deadline. It's nice to come up for air and learn about your book. The cover is great, as are the other two you mentioned by the other authors. I look forward to reading them, once I get through my own slush pile of to do's. :-) I'm going to share your post on FB.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention David! HUGS! And congrats again to you and Michael. I'm so happy for you both!
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard to face reviews for the first time, but it's great to hear it's going well. :) Ignore the voices of self-doubt!
ReplyDeleteThose books do look good, as does Woven. Shutter looks like it might actually bite, though, contrary to what you said. Continued good luck on your book tour!
ReplyDeleteHi David. It's great to hear about all of your successes. I wouldn't feel too worried about Woven being "everywhere..." It deserves to be and people know that :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how some part of us still wants to worry even when things are going well. Enjoy the book being all over the place, it means people like it!
ReplyDeleteThroughout high school I "dated" books and now looking back I guess that was probably a good thing.
ReplyDeleteAt least the color scheme of your book cover and associated logos is pleasing to my eyes so I don't mind seeing that. I guess finding the right balance of reasonable marketing and saturation annoyance is important. So far I don't think you're annoying anybody.
