There's one kind of story that makes me feel like a small boy again: adventure. As luck would have it, we recently rented something we've been meaning to see for years and then wished we'd seen it much sooner. And if you're into Steampunk, you gonna see this thing!
Ray's Theme: by Steve Jablonsky
From the film: Steamboy
In short, it reminded me of The Rocketeer, a mid-1800's one, with enough steam technology to make any steam junkie's day. I have to give credit to Jay Noel for piquing my interest in the sub-genre (or is it its own genre? Throw a bone at me if I have that wrong). Thanks for stopping by for a listen, and have a great day, everyone!
I'm David, and it feels a little "steamy" in here ...
Not seen that one yet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet caught the steampunk bug. Maybe this could convert me...infect me? Haha seems cool though--nice music. :)
ReplyDeleteI do like steampunk, especially steampunk fashion. (; Steamboy looks like a good film, love the music, gonna check it out. (=
ReplyDeleteHmm...haven't seen it. Nice music- thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten into steampunk unless you count the Wild Wild West remake done by Will Smith (terrible by the way).
ReplyDeleteBoy it was cold last night here in Utah.
I'll have to check this out! I love steampunk.
ReplyDeleteGreat music.
Never heard of this one but I love The Rocketeer.
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved Steamboy! It's one of my favorite films. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year,
Alexandra~
This is added to my list! Right after Howl's Moving Castle!!
ReplyDeleteLoved this one! You may like the anime "Metropolis" too.
ReplyDeleteI've wondered that about steampunk myself. I've been considering it a separate genre, but maybe it is just a sub-genre from sci fi. Anyway it's got a kind of character that can't be found in other sci fi works :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie you're referring to, but this song does make me think of a rocket launch of some sort.
ReplyDeleteNICE! I'm adding this one to my list. I've never seen this movie but I'm liking the music!
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS THE NAME OF THE MOVIE I'VE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER FOR THREE YEARS NOW.
ReplyDeleteThanks! The young man showed it to me one evening in college, and I wanted to recommend it to my brother a few years later when he started getting into anime, but darned if neither of us could remember the name of the film or enough unique characteristics to google it.
