Post: Did Blogger Have A Hiccup?

No. Not that kind of Hiccup! The dragon's face is fairly appropriate for what I felt over the weekend, however.

Shortly after my post on Thursday, I noticed that it disappeared, reappeared, and then disappeared again. While things look normal again, many of your comments are forever lost in the belly of the Interwebs. Not just little comments--paragraph-long, discussion-quality comments. I know you guys spent time on them and I'm "Night Furious" that your work was lost and that I did not get to read them all. This Blogger hiccup is passed, but just so you know, I did not delete your contributing comments. Seriously. I'm not that diabolical. Promise.

As for new followers, we have six new lucky minions to mention! Please take a gander at their blogs, everyone!

Stephanie Skeem - her blog has some sweet tracks!
Kimberly Krey - she just finished her first novel!
S.B.Niccum - who has already unVeiled her debut novel!
Claire Chilton - she is an excellent writer from York!
Conor P. Dempsey - new blogger, great taste in Sci-Fi!
Lea Zeqiri - a tasteful writer and cooking connoisseur!

Thank you all for joining this cosmic journey!

Update: my hands are literally spent--I wish I could pin that on writing. The flooring is done. No more hammer and chisel. I handed Mike (my awesome alpha) the long awaited chapter 20, and he loves it! I'm relieved, since 20 was the hardest chapter so far (being abstract and the climax). While chapter 21 is underway, my producer friend is rather anxious for another segment. I'll read through another three chapters for her, then resume the heart-pounding falling action. Three chapters to go!

What were your achievements this weekend? When you have the hiccups, what do you do to get rid of them?

I'm David, and drinking upside-down works for me.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out! The blog thing stressed me out too. I hate lost comments! As for the hiccups, I haven't had them in a while but I try to scare the crap out of my kids when they have them. It doesn't actually work - but it's fun. :)

  2. Hi David, yes blogger threw a wobbly and lost comments and posts and reposted posts without comments and so I re-posted them with comments inserted.
Glad your Alpha likes your chapters.

You have been tagged over at mine and there is a prize giveaway 3 prizes up for grabs :O)

  3. I think my greatest accomplishment this weekend was getting my significant other to do the laundry.

I hold my breath when I get the hiccups. Some times it works, some times it doesn't.

  5. Yep I had problems with Blogger, too, and so gave up posting on Friday, it was too much hassle.

Like you I lost great in-depth discussion worthy comments from my Wednesday Karate Kid post. Really annoying! Those comments were great!

  8. Wait drinking upside with a straw? Or a camel pack? Because camel packs sound like a genius idea when you're writing but then your mouth gets all dry but you can't take your hands away from the keyboard or the idea will just poof. Literally poof in the span of reaching for the tea/water/whatever.

  9. Finished my short story and worked on one of my WIPs.

  10. Yeah! Fut the wuck? I lost a post and it never came back! Those Blogger Blackguards!

I wrote a 1,000 word story about scientists discovering the tooth of the Midgard Serpent at the bottom of the Marianas Trench, went sailing, finished the BSG series and edited another short story for submission.

Anyway, glad we've all recovered and no villages had to be razed.

  11. I had comments (and a post) deleted from my blog, too--I have no idea how much people said that I didn't get to read.

What do I do to get rid of them? Hold my breath, get dizzy by spinning in circles, squeeze my stomach muscles . . . the usual routine. :P

  12. Blogger was definitely hiccuping this weekend! (And I LOVE THAT MOVIE) Congrats on your achievements! Unfortunately I didn't have any writing-related ones this weekend, but I did manage to finally update my blog today.

  13. It was miserable.

I remember, just 2 1/2 months ago when I started following your blog you had around 80 followers. Now you've got close to 150. Congratulations.

  15. You guys are terrific! Sorry for not getting around to your comments and blogs as quickly as I'd like. It's been a productive writing week. It's best if I keep this train going and ride it as far as it will take me. Thank you for your encouragements!
