Post: Rocking the Chair

You know what I enjoy more than three-day weekends? Four-day weekends! Not that I was able to write much, or do anything else for that matter, but I took those days as an opportunity to brainstorm and plot a mental course for this week. Due to the holiday, this post is a day late. If there's ever a holiday on a Monday, chances are you'll read my update post on the following Tuesday. So what did I do with my time? Babysat for a couple of days, listened to the rain, and splurged on a new rocking chair for my wife, replacing the old squeaky one that's falling apart. Today I'm looking forward to doing as much work as I can and attend my critique session tonight.

Update: Chapter 4 is under wraps, awaiting critique group review. Chapter 5 is now underway. With any luck, I'll have 5 done before the week is over and I'll be well into chapter 6, which I know I'm going to spend a lot of time on. The magic system needs uniformity and clarification. It's a chore, but I'm looking forward to it.
No word yet on my Writers of the Future entry, but they sent me an email informing me that they received it. That's good news. It's comforting to know that they have it, at least.

For this aspiring writer, I say so long, fair well, till next time.
