Seasons In Time and Space: An Update Before Docking The Cosmic Laire For An Undetermined Duration

Hey, guys! It's been too long since I last posted, and there's no good reason for this lapse of time other than exploring several options that the universe has placed before me--among others issues. I'll get to that in a second. But first I just want to let you know what's been happening on my end of the universe these last couple of months.

First, a special shout-out to new readers and followers from Brazil who have given Woven a wonderful reception there. In fact my social media has exploded with new followers as well. Thank you for finding me and for enjoying our enduring little ghost story. Muito obrigado!

Since my unemployment scare a few months back, I am now working two jobs over 6 out of 7 days a week. And what I am doing is making a significant impact for my colleagues, in a capacity that I have never experienced until now. It's fun and I love it. To be of even greater value to the team, I will be returning to school this Fall to obtain a certificate in substance abuse counseling. Didn't see that coming!

Now comes the hard part--I'm about to be brutally honest with you here. Some incredible things have happened these last three years. With it, I have also taken more hits that has all but derailed me from pursuing this writing dream. I haven't exactly recovered from them. After 20 years of doing everything in my power to improve my craft and become a published author, I have succeeded both traditionally and self. But now life has caught up with me and I have to adult now. Not forever. After many discussions with myself and authors, I have determined that other matters need my attention. A new foundation needs to be laid before I can resume writing. This will take time, which means I will be bowing out of the writing forefront for a season.

I will continue to work quietly on my stories when I can. A sequel to Woven has taken great strides in recent months as well. I just won't have much of a presence on this blog or on social media. I fully intend to finish Jeremy's story along with the 20+ tales that endlessly swirls around in my brain day and night. They just won't come as quickly or as readily as readers may like. Please excuse me while I secure home base, so I may later be the prolific writer I've always wanted to be.

This is far from a formal goodbye. I will still poke into the Blogosphere and social media when I can. I will still participate in book and author events whenever possible. I just had to get this off my chest, to not let you guys stay in the dark any longer. Until then, stay awesome!

Wish me luck! Have you had to put a hold on your writing for a time? How did you get back into it? How's your summer so far?

I'm David, and I've left the the keys in the ignition.
