Carrie Butler: The 4 Critique Reactions

One of my favorite bloggers I've yet to meet in person is the astounding Carrie Butler of So, You're A Writer, and she has a special doodle surprise for us: The 4 Critique Reactions! If we've had our work critiqued, I'm sure we've put on one or all of these faces (and maybe more - where's the cry face?). The floor is yours, Carrie!

I'm Carrie, and you'll never know the face I'm making. ;)

  1. Carrie is awesome!
I'm lucky it's usually the second one.

  2. I love that. I admit to having face #3 before. But I think it was just that once.

  5. I have definitively experienced all of the above, although I feel like my most common is either #4 or #5, which is my "Damn, I hoped they wouldn't notice that"

  10. If those faces got any more spot on it would be seriously scary. Thankfully, I haven't had many chances to sport face #3.

    Love the doodles, Carrie.

Thanks for having Carrie, over, David.

    Happy Friday to all :-)

  11. I have made all four faces. I too want to see the crying face. Although, I admit that I save that face for when I'm leaving the critique group at the end of the night.
    Nice work!

  13. Thank you for having me over, David! It was fun working on (read: doodling) something writing-centric for once. :)

Hmm... you guys are right. Crying face definitely deserves a panel. Sounds like we need a second edition sometime! Any more suggestions?

    Thanks, everyone! :D

  16. This is great. I'm yet to go through this, just hope I don't do too much of #1 and #3!

  17. I also vote for crying face and a totally bemused "bwah? they want WHAT?" face that I've made more than once to an editor. (Sometimes, suggestions are so out there and awful that you can't help but "bwah?") Awesome.
