The WOVEN A to Z Challenge: N is for Nels!

I dedicate this A to Z Challenge to Tina Downey, one of the A to Z Challenge founders and one of the brightest bloggers who sadly left us last year. Harder still, she was in a secret support group that I'm part of. The best way I can honor Tina, who was excited about and never had the opportunity to read my debut, I've teamed up with Father Dragon to present short bios and character portraits from Woven. I'll write the bios and all art is created by Al Diaz. I hope you enjoy this visual tribute to our friend, Tina.

N is for Nels

All his life, Nels has desired to be a knight for his kingdom, a goal that his widowed mother won't allow him to pursue. He has sandy brown hair and green eyes. Villagers call him the "Knight of Cobblestown" for his effort and good deeds. He is undefeated at wrestling and enjoys spending time with his best friends, Wallin and Jilia. What Nels doesn't know is that an adventure awaits if he sneaks off to the festival...

  3. He is a great character and such a nice young man. What happened to him was very sad but made a great story.

  5. I loved Nels and his easy character, even when in serious trouble. He has a calmness about him that I appreciate, especially when I meet it in real life in real people. I love this view of him, thinking of that first wrestling match and his win! Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com

I do know I LOVE Nels. I loved him right off, but the more time I spend with him the more I enjoy his company.

  35. My son wrestled in high school, and I wish he wore Nels' uniform instead of a teeny weeny singlet! This sounds like a wonderful adventure story, and it was a great idea to team up with the very talented Father Dragon!
