I dedicate this A to Z Challenge to Tina Downey, one of the A to Z
Challenge founders and one of the brightest bloggers who sadly left us
last year. Harder still, she was in a secret support group that I'm part
of. The best way I can honor Tina, who was excited about and never had
the opportunity to read my debut, I've teamed up with Father Dragon to present short bios and character portraits from Woven. I'll write the bios and all art is created by Al Diaz. I hope you enjoy this visual tribute to our friend, Tina.

The Needle of Gailner is a long lost tool of fabrication, able to alter reality for whoever uses it. This power may even sew someone's unwoven thread back to their body--which is why Nels and Tyra seek for it. Within the eye is a unique gem, but little else is known. This ancient illustration is the only indication that we have of what it may have looked like.
Tomorrow: F is for FargutI'm David, and it is "more beautiful than I imagined."
Al captured the Needle very well!
ReplyDeleteNice picture! Are you going to pull these all together into a book?
ReplyDeleteReally does look old, he did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing renditions of things which I have been unable to imagine myself. Well done the pair of you. Donna's idea is good.
ReplyDeleteOuch--sewing thread back to the body.
ReplyDeleteI had to enlarge the picture to see if the gem was actually a picture of a gem rather than a sketch! Good job :)
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds like one powerful needle. I should get it for when I sew ;).
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the needle and the whole idea of it in your story.
ReplyDeleteWow, the Needle of Gailner is gorgeous! The power it has scares me, though, haha...
ReplyDeleteWell done! I need to go back a few letters to catch up and check out the other artwork.
ReplyDeleteThis is well done and nicely animated-looks fairy like and should have hidden powers
