Random Sauce: Are You Excited For 2015 Yet?

I'm deep into the final chapters of this final revision and plum-out of advice (LTUE is sure to give me the refill I need), but I found a little something that must be shared. We know by now (or you may have heard) that J. J. Abrams has signed on to helm the next Star Wars film. Now, given Mr. Abrams's track record for doing a great job with science fiction (and may very well be the one to make me dig Star Trek finally), what can we expect to experience in Episode VII?

Well ... someone has already explored that - and I like what I see!

Even with the Disney promo, the Force is strong in this one ...

Have an excellent weekend, everyone! See you again Monday!

Who is excited about the new Star Wars films? Have you heard of the Han Solo and Boba Fett standalones being proposed?

I'm David, and I wanna know how Han met his Wookie!

  1. With Lucas out of the picture, the next Star Wars has a chance. Now, if only it's as good as that fake trailer.

  2. I'm torn.. Disney is sort of an evil empire all unto themselves, but having Lucas out of the picture gives hope for the future. I do have to admit, however, that I'm looking forward to it.

  3. Wow! Nicely made trailer. Lets hope it's done well.

  4. I have hope knowing Lucas is out and Abrams is in. And in response to Kevin, Disney made it to the Green list of top environmentally conscious companies, which included Honda, Whole Foods, and Discovery, so maybe not as evil as you think. At any rate, I'm looking forward to it and as long as there's no frakking Jar Jar I will be happy as a pig in you know what.

  6. I try not to get excited about movies until I know more about them. There's so much that can go wrong along the way.

  7. I just found out now. *Hangs Head* Thrilled though.

  8. Not much of a Star Wars addict, but for all of you I hope it's great!

    Enjoy your weekend too David...

  9. Star Wars was a powerful influence in my life. I shall wait and see how this one comes out, and then I'll tell you.

  10. That fan-made trailer is pretty awesome. 2015 is also when "The Winds of Winter" is published. I will probably disappear for an entire week just to read it. I'm so excited aarrrgghh...can't wait!

Lightsaber sparkle...it's what Star Wars is all about.

  11. Ep VII may be pushed to '16. That's what Abrams wants, anyway. The proposed stand alone movie, right now, is Yoda. Joe Johnston (director of Captain America) does what to make a Boba Fett movie (he was the primary designer of Fett), but that's all there is on it, right now. He's been after Lucas for years to let him make it, but no one has said yes. Unless there's been new news from Disney within the last few days, there have no other announced or proposed stand alones.

  13. Definitely looking forward to this one. I hope they do a good job with it!!

I left you an award on my blog--I don't know if you accept them, cause I don't see other ones on here. If not, no big deal. ;) It's not one of those ones you have to answer questions for or anything. Just pick it whenever--or not, haha--up to you. Have a good w'kend!

  16. I've always been more of a Trek fan than a Wars fan but the theme music gets me a little excited for this.

  17. I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars . . . but that trailer was cool, and with JJ Abrams directing I'll admit I'm interested.

  18. Star Wars has been getting my attention since it came out in the 70's.

  19. If the new film were like this, I'd be happy to see it! :) I'm really honestly hoping that they don't mess the franchise up (more than they have already) with the new film(s). I think that a film about Han and Boba Fett (who has always been my fave) would be interesting.

    Have a great weekend!

  20. I will keep an open mind, although I don't tend to like any Disney live action stuff. If they're just bankrolling it I don't mind. Abrams is a good choice!

  21. I'm withholding judgement until I see it. Here's hoping, though.

  22. I liked the trailer and thought it was funny they used the same voice and message from the Star Trek trailer. I hope it turns out to be as exciting as it looks.

  23. Jaron says that since J.J. Abrams did Star Trek too it's a conflict of interest. ;) Could be awesome. That's my new hope. (Okay, no more lousy puns.)

  25. I'm new here - but I have to say that fake trailer was excellent - I can't wait to see it - to bring my almost 40 something son and 12 year old grandson - to bridge the generation gap!
